NEET Counseling 2020 -


Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) has released the schedule of NEET Counseling 2020 for admission to all India quota seats. As per the official notice issued by the MCC, the commencement of NEET counseling registration has been delayed, and the new registration will now start from October 28, 2020. The updated NEET 2020 counseling schedule and scheme are already uploaded on the official website soon. NEET 2020 counseling dates are available in this article. NEET counseling dates should also be viewed at mcc.nic.in. NTA NEET counseling for states has already started with Goa MBBS Admission, Puducherry, etc. NEET 2020 counseling will be conducted in a completely online mode. Candidates wishing to participate in AIQ NEET counseling will have to register online. As per the latest update of the NEET 2020 counseling process, officials have issued an official notice stating that medical or dental seats filled under IP quota in ESIC medical/dental colleges will now be filled by DGHS under the AIQ seats. It is estimated that 317 MBBS and 22 Dental ESIC seats will give in AIQ quota based on NEET Counseling based on www.mcc.nic.in and Only those candidates who have passed NEET 2020 with a minimum required percentage are eligible to participate in NEET 2020 counseling.


DGHS has entrusted with the responsibility of conducting NEET Counseling 2020 for a total of 15% seats of the all-India quota for all government colleges (except colleges in Jammu and Kashmir). The seats for Central, and Deemed Universities, reserved seats for Wards of Insurance Person (IP quota) of Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Medical Colleges, and seats available at Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) will be filled through NEET 2020 counseling. The result of NEET counseling 2020 will be released in the form of a seat allocation list. The counseling of NEET 2020 for the proposed 85% seats in government and private medical/dental colleges will be conducted by the concerned State Counseling Authority.


235 medical colleges will participate in the counseling process of NEET 2020. There will be a total of three rounds of NEET 2020 counseling, which will be conducted along with the mop-up rounds. Moping up rounds of counseling will be conducted for Deemed/Central University and ESIC College Admit Card only.

NEET Counseling 2020 - What's New?


  • Medical or dental seats which were earlier filled under IP quota in ESIC Medical / Dental Colleges will now be filled by DGHS under AIQ quota seats. On the basis of NEET counseling 2020, an estimated AIQ quota will now be given to 317 MBBS and 22 dental ESIC seats.

  • There has been a substantial increase in the number of medical colleges participating in AIQ counseling this year. A total of 235 medical colleges are participating in AIQ counseling, while last year, there were only 193 medical colleges.

  • There has been an increase in the number of available seats of colleges under the AIQ which has increased to 4591 as compared to 4064 last year.

  • Counseling for 85% seats in Vardhman Mahaveer Medical College and ESIC College was earlier conducted by the IPU administration, which will be conducted by the MCC from this year.


NEET Counseling 2020 - General Eligibility Criteria


  • Only those candidates who have qualified in NEET 2020 entrance examination by obtaining a minimum qualifying percentage, only those students will be eligible to participate in NEET 2020 counseling.

  • Candidates belonging to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir will not be eligible to participate in NEET counseling.

  • To be eligible to participate in NEET 2020 counseling, candidates have to register themselves on the MCC website within the stipulated time.

  • All the candidates from the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, who are NEET qualified, will be eligible to participate in AIQ counseling for deemed universities.
